More at Four Specialist

The Partnership for Children (PFC) – Smart Start – is a comprehensive public-private initiative to help all Cumberland County children enter school healthy and ready to succeed.

Can you work independently and yet be part of a team? The More at Four Unit is seeking a person who is energetic, a team player, and enjoys working with people in the early childhood field.

The More at Four Specialist provides administrative and programmatic support to enable the efficient and effective implementation of the More at Four Pre-kindergarten Program.

The More at Four Specialist assesses prospective sites and recruits children; conducts Environmental Rating Scales as well as Assessment Tool training for sites; conducts site review and referral contact; conducts site visits per timeline as specified by Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) Director, maintains ongoing communication with Cumberland County Schools EARLY-IN regarding assessment/placement for children with special needs; develops and maintains communication with PFC Direct Service Providers and other contractors/health care providers regarding screenings and Kindergarten Health Assessments; ensures appropriate and timely follow up by More at Four sites in securing needed services for More at Four children based on screenings; maintains inventory for classroom materials and works with vendors, Child Care Resource & Referral staff, and More at Four site staff to ensure proper and timely delivery of needed items for each classroom.

Consults and advises center sites including Cumberland County Schools with issues in implementation, including maintaining a log; serves as main contact for parents calling with More at Four inquires; works in close coordination with Cumberland County Schools personnel; supports More at Four sites administration and teaching staff and manages related phone call inquires, coordinates with PFC contracts & fiscal offices and other PFC staff involved in the More at Four administration and services.

Maintains current thorough knowledge of More at Four Program Guidelines and related documents; updating More at Four policies and procedures for parents and sites; manages More at Four site paperwork, subsidy packages and relevant correspondence.

Candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; the ability to make decisions and take action within the boundaries of the position; the ability to carry out functions with minimal supervision; and must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills that allow for appropriate interaction with personnel in the state, in the community and within the agency. Candidate must have superior communication and presentation skills.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or BK preferred. Knowledge/experience in Early Childhood Education and working with at-risk families; proficient skills in data entry, public relations/public speaking, organizational management. Proficient technology skills in use of Word, Excel, Internet, and E-mail. Minimum of two years of progressive early childhood experience in a classroom setting. Additional experience may be substituted for post high-school education, provided the requisite skills have been obtained. Hiring range: $ 24,805 - $27,905.
