Professional Development Office Assistant
The Professional Development Office Assistant is responsible for clerical support to enable the efficient and effective functions of the Professional Development Career Center.
The Professional Development Office Assistant supports the Professional Development Manager. This includes responsibility for taking messages and communicating important information to the Professional Development Manager; making telephone calls to provide information, schedule meetings; obtain and compile data; including entering data into database files and retrieving data to create draft reports; perform clerical tasks, including typing, copying, collating, faxing, mailing, filing, etc. for the Professional Development Career Center; making preparations for meetings/training sessions; and performing other duties as assigned; maintains calendar of activities, meetings and various events.
In addition the Office Assistant will maintain and update all files on the provider database on an ongoing basis to ensure the following: (1) all information is current and accurate to assist in providing child care referrals to the parents; and (2) to input pertinent information of child care facilities that wish to register with Child Care Resource and Referral.
Candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; the ability to make decisions and take action within the boundaries of the position; the ability to carry out functions with minimal supervision; the ability to maintain confidentiality of information in the performance of duties; must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel. Candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills that allows for appropriate interaction with personnel in the community and within the agency. Candidate must understand some weekend work will be required. In the event the Professional Development Office Assistant possesses bilingual skills, the incumbent may be required to perform translation services at the direction of the President.
Education Requirements:
Associate's Degree or equivalent, supplemented with training in typing/word processing, spreadsheet, desktop publishing; in Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Minimum typing score: 45 NWPM. Minimum of three years of progressively responsible secretarial or clerical/administrative experience preferred. Additional experience may be substituted for post high-school education, provided the requisite skills have been obtained.
Hiring range: $18,636-$20,966
