Links and Resources: Healthy Environments

  • Child Care Health Consultants (CCHCs) are health professionals who know about child health, child development, and health and safety in child care settings. CCHCs and the child care staff work together to promote healthy and safe environments for young children.
  • The Child Care Health Information Database contains information relating to child care, organized into topics based on the Caring For Our Children National Performance Standards and other selected resources. You can look for the information you need in three different ways: by a list of chapters and topics, through a list of keywords, or by searching the full text of the National Standards. If you are using the Information Database for the first time, we suggest starting with a "Search By Topic."
  • The NC Child Care Health and Safety Bulletin. It is a bimonthly bulletin that includes in depth information about health and safety concerns in child care settings, as well as information for child care programs to share with parents.
  • Resources from the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center
