Spring Semester Waiting List
The Professional Development Counseling Center (PDCC) offers support, training, technical assistance, educational opportunities, and financial assistance to Early Childhood professionals in regulated child care facilities and public schools. The Counseling Center advocates improving the educational levels of teachers, increasing wages through T.E.A.C.H., and other benefits. Through these efforts, the Counseling Center intends to reduce the high staff turnover often experienced in child care facilities and public schools.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be employed in a regulated child care education facility and/or program in Cumberland County, to include:
- Child care directors, teachers, and teachers' assistants
- Head Start directors, teachers, and teachers' assistants
- Public school pre-k teachers and teachers' assistants
- More at Four teachers and providers
- Committed to pursuing additional education in early childhood.
Enrolling in the Counseling Center
- Contact the Professional Development Coordinator and schedule an appointment.
- Bring proof of employment ( pay stub and letter from employer, or license).
- Complete Counseling Center Information Sheet
- Complete and sign a Commitment Agreement
Counseling Center Services
- Serves as a liaison between the students and educational institutions.
- Offers technical assistance.
- Provides financial assistance (books, tuition, and student fees).
- Provides application forms for Financial Aid.
- Provides current information and applications for T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps)
