The Partnership for Children of Cumberland
County is the nonprofit organization charged with implementing
North Carolina's Smart Start and More-at-Four school-readiness
programs for children from birth through age five. This organization
has a successful record of improving the quality of child
care, parenting resources, access to health care, and other
support systems for Cumberland County's children.
Economic development experts say that a world-class education
system will attract businesses to our state. First-class
early childhood support is part of that system and it contributes
to the quality of life for our community.
Studies have shown that all, and especially low-income,
children who participate in model child intervention programs
are more likely to attend college and be in a high-skilled
job or higher education at age 21. The Partnership
promotes and funds these types of programs.
We invite you to join in support to advance the education,
health, and well-being of Cumberland County's future - its
25,300 young children. We are mandated by North Carolina to
attract at least ten percent of our annual budget from private
sources and grants. The Partnership for Children is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
and your contributions are tax-deductible. |
