The
Quality Improvement of Business Practices Program is
aimed at improving the business operations and communications
in child care centers. The program began in April of
2000 as the “Quality Improvement Grant for Technology
(QIG-T)”. Centers enrolled in the program must
meet the following guidelines:
- Offer services according to guidelines set forth
by PFC (ex. must service children with disabilities)
- Complete a software skills assessment at PFC to
determine acceptance into the program
- Be registered with Child Care Solutions and on the
Naccrraware Database
- Must attend “Introduction to QIBP” and
any classes provided by PFC, Fayetteville Technical
Community College, or other designated training facility
- The center also had to be in good standing with
PFC, as well as, other state agencies
Today, childcare centers dedicated to improving the
quality of childcare services are participating in the
QIBP program. They enjoy the ongoing benefits of this
program, through IT, such as:
- A computer system for use in the daily business
operations of the childcare center
- Technical support for all aspects of the computer
system through the IT Help Desk
- Desktop support through on-site visits for repairs
and preventative maintenance/upgrades
- Training, held in the PFC Training Room, covering
topics such as: Windows operating system, Microsoft
Office Applications, Security/File Management and Kids
Care 5.0
- IT Workshops aimed towards continued improvement
of services and affordable technology solutions for
the early childhood community
