Quality enhancement (MAINTEN ANCE ) - project designed to maintain quality / level of licensure in three, four and five star regulated centers/homes through the provision of on-site technical assistance, customized quality improvement/maintenance plans, and funds for needed materials or services.

(SS.16a.) Number of child care facilities that participate in Smart Start funded activities designed to maintain their rating to 3-star or higher.	Number of child care facilities with a current 3- ,4- or 5-star rating and are scheduled to be re-assessed by DCD during FY06-07. Number of children enrolled in child care facilities with a current 3- ,4- or 5-star rating and are scheduled to be re-assessed by DCD during FY06-07.
(SS.16b.) Number of children enrolled in child care facilities that participate in Smart Start funded activities designed to maintain their rating to 3-star or higher.	Number of 3- ,4- or 5-star rated child care facilities that, at a minimum, maintain their current star rating based on the re-assessment by DCD conducted during FY06-07.
